Celebrating a pregnancy after a certain period has passed

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 19599 )
Q: It is customary in my country that when a pregnant woman reaches seven months, a celebration is held in various ways, differing from city to city. Likewise, after the birth, the Mawlid of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is recited. Question: What is your opinion on this? Is there any religious evidence for it?
A: Celebrating a pregnancy after a certain period has passed, and celebrating the birth by reciting the Mawlid of the Prophet, both are religious innovations with no basis. What is prescribed is the 'aqiqah sacrifice for the newborn after its birth: two sheep for a boy and one sheep for a girl, slaughtered on the seventh day, when the boy is named and his head is shaved. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Every boy is pawned against his 'Aqiqah, to be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day of his birth, his head is to be shaved, and he must be given a name.كل غلام مرتهن بعقيقته تذبح عنه يوم سابعه، ويحلق ويسمى
Bulugh al-Maram 12:44
, and because he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that two sheep be sacrificed for a boy and one sheep for a girl.
If this is not possible on the seventh day, it is slaughtered whenever it becomes possible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
