The questioner : May Allah preserve you. His second question says: He has an aunt who is deaf, and her prayer consists of takbir, praise, and supplication without reciting any surah or the opening chapter of the Qur'an, or anything else. He says: "I am unable to teach her because of her deafness. Is her prayer valid? And am I sinful for not having taught her?"
The Shaykh : As for her prayer, it is valid, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:286], and His saying the Exalted: [At-Taghabun 64:16].
As for you, you are not sinful because you say: "If I had taught her, she would not have understood. How can you be held accountable for something you are unable to do and which would be of no benefit?" It is sufficient for her to glorify, declare the oneness of Allah, and say Allahu Akbar. We ask Allah for acceptance for us and for her.
The Shaykh : As for her prayer, it is valid, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity
لا يكلف الله نفساً ال وسعهاSo fear Allah as much as you are able
فاتقوا الله ما إستطعتمAs for you, you are not sinful because you say: "If I had taught her, she would not have understood.
