Conditioning a vow upon the will of Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 18492 )
Q: My mother had a daughter who was ill, and my mother said: If Allah wills, if Allah heals this daughter of mine, then I will fast, by the will of Allah the Exalted, two days of every month. She continued fasting, but currently, when she fasts, she suffers from severe thirst, trembling in her body, and fatigue from this fasting. It is known that she is advanced in age and is over sixty years old. What is obligatory upon her?
A : It is not obligatory for your mother to fast, because she conditioned the fasting upon the will of Allah the Exalted. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
