Greeting and Visiting the One Who Does Not Pray
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 13509 )
Q: 1- Is it permissible to greet a non-praying person ? 2- Is it permissible to follow the funeral of a Christian , except at the time of burial and when they enter the church; because the curse descends in these two places? 3- Is it permissible to visit a sick Muslim who does not pray ?
A : Among the causes of affection among Muslims, and of their mutual love and mercy, is:
visiting one another, seeking the reward with Allah, and feeling compassion for one's brother and advising him toward the truth. So if you know that a person does not pray, and you visit him to advise him, guide him, and clarify the truth to him, that is permissible; perhaps Allah will guide him through your hands. It is not permissible to follow the funeral of the Christians. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
