The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 7518 )
Q 4: Is it permissible for a person to deal with his brothers as a lying diplomat would, for example: Riyadh and Jeddah (240) riyals is the known fare between the people of the country, but he tells his brothers: the air ticket fare between Riyadh and Jeddah is one thousand riyals, and he takes one thousand riyals from them, and cuts the air ticket for only (240) riyals, and takes the rest, is this deceptive dealing permissible between Muslims?
A 4 : Lying for no benefit is forbidden, Allah the Exalted said:[At-Tawbah 9:119]
And the lying mentioned is not for a benefit, so it is forbidden, and the extra money he took is forbidden, he must return it to the one it belongs to. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
