The ruling on lying that does not cause harm to anyone

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of the fatwa number ( 6355 )
Q 8: What is the ruling on lying that does not cause harm to anyone at all?
A 8 : Lying is forbidden absolutely, except for what the Lawgiver has excluded, and what you mentioned is not among those exceptions; due to the generality of the evidence, such as the saying of Allah the Exalted:
O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are true.
[At-Tawbah 9:119]
And in (al-Bukhari and Muslim) and others, it is narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Hold fast to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man will keep telling the truth and seeking truthfulness until he is recorded by Allah as one who is truthful. And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A man will keep lying and seeking lies until he is recorded by Allah as a liar.
, and from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud also that he said: Lying does not make sense, whether in seriousness or in jest. Read, if you wish:
O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are true.
[At-Tawbah 9:119]
, thus
he recited it, then said: Do you find a dispensation for anyone in this? And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
