Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: And conversely, the Messenger (peace be upon him) warned:
Beware of lying. Lying leads to corruption وإياكم والكذب ؛ فإنَّ الكذبَ يهدي إلى الفجور
Muwatta Malik 56:16
And open sinfulness is transgression, disobedience, and stepping out of what the Most Merciful (Blessed and Exalted is He) has commanded. As a result of this, open sinfulness leads to the Fire, whereas the opposite, truthfulness, leads its owner to Paradise.
and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar. وإن الرجل ليكذب حتى يُكتَبَ عند الله كذابًا
Sahih al-Bukhari 6094
, and in the other narration:
And a man will not stop lying وإن الرجل لا يزال يكذب
meaning that this is his constant habit, forever and ever, that he lies
till he is written before Allah, a liar. حتى يُكتَبَ عند الله كذَّابًا
Sahih al-Bukhari 6094
