Lying in response to a secret matter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19958 )
Q2: Is it permissible for us to lie in this situation or not: A man asked you about something personal—secret— a forbidden act you committed in seclusion, and no one saw you except Allah who concealed you, so must we tell the truth and expose ourselves, or do we lie , and what if the matter involves an oath, i.e., he says to you, "I swear by Allah that you did not do that forbidden thing"?
A2 : No form of lying is permissible except in the cases the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) excluded, which are lying to reconcile between people, lying in war, and lying between husband and wife to repair their relationship. And whoever commits a sin must repent, and he does not mention it to people unless a right of the people is involved, such as wronging them or encroaching upon them; in that case, he mentions it to them and returns it to them if it is money, or asks them for forgiveness if it is something else. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
