The first question of Fatwa number ( 20517 )
Q 1: My grandfather (may Allah have mercy on him) passed away a month ago. I loved him very much, and I love his sons for the sake of Allah. However, they have a satellite dish. A while ago, one of his sons came to me, and I told him: "I dreamed of your father, and he sends his greetings to you, and says: Remove the dish from the roof." So his sons went and smashed the dish into small pieces, out of love for their father, and they swore they would never let this device enter their home again. I lied about this dream, but I did not wish them any harm. What is my obligation?
A 2 : Lying about a dream is forbidden, and there are warnings regarding it that serve as a deterrent. It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah said: Narrated by al-Bukhari . And it was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 7042 Narrated by al-Bukhari .
It is obligatory for you to repent and seek forgiveness for what came from you. And it is obligatory for you in the future, if you enjoin good or forbid evil, to follow the lawful means and to adhere to truthfulness and trustworthiness. We ask Allah for you guidance and success. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

إن من أفرى الفرى أن يُرِيَ عينه ما لم تَرَWhoever claims to have seen a dream which he did not see, will be ordered to make a knot between two barley grains which he will not be able to do
