Keeping a Secret
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 13283 )
Q2: Shaykh Ibn Baz: I would like to pose this question to you on behalf of one of the sisters. She says that she told her a secret, and she had entrusted her with it, but this friend, unfortunately, betrayed the trust and published the secret she had been entrusted with. This friend wants me to ask your Eminence for something I can present to this friend, perhaps Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will guide her to the path of righteousness, and guide us all to His straight path. Knowing that this friend holds a special place in her heart, she wants to convince her with my conviction, and she does not want to cause her any harm, and may Allah reward you with the best reward.
A2 : The woman mentioned must repent to Allah the Exalted for disclosing her friend's secret, and she should seek her friend's forgiveness, hoping that Allah will accept her repentance and forgive her. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
