Q3: What is the authenticity of the claim that when Allah took Adam (peace be upon him) out of Paradise, he called upon Allah by the status of Muhammad , whose name is written in Paradise, asking Him to forgive him, so Allah forgave Adam. Then Adam called upon Allah to show him Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so Allah showed him the image of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the nails of his thumbs. He then kissed them and wiped his eyes with them. This has become a followed practice among the non-Arabs mentioned earlier when they hear the name of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); they perform this motion, kissing the two thumb nails and then wiping their eyes with them, although we have not heard of this before. In conclusion, we ask Allah to guide you to what is good and beneficial for this Ummah, to keep your steps straight, and to protect you for His religion, for He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.
A3 : These reports mentioned regarding Adam’s (peace and blessings be upon him) seeking nearness to Allah through Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) are false, and any innovations based on them are invalid.
