Q: Some of the men of the desert use some of the devilish superstitions, and they believe that it is a legitimate ruqyah with which they treat the one afflicted by the evil eye. The wording of its phrases is as follows: They gather seven pebbles with a piece of leather and white antimony, known among the perfumers, then they gather these items and circle them around the head of the patient with the evil eye seven times, and they say the following words: One by Allah, two by Allah, three by Allah, and in this manner until they complete seven times. Then after that, they put the antimony in the fire, and when that antimony boils, they say that the image of the one who afflicted with the evil eye appears to them in the antimony that was put in the fire. If the one who cast the evil eye is a man, the image of his eye or the image of his private parts appears in the antimony, and if it is a woman, the image of her private parts appears. Your Eminence, we hope for a response to these people and advice for them.
A : All of these actions are devilish actions, and they are among the superstitions that Satan beautifies for their practitioners, and they are not among the legitimate remedies as they claim. It is necessary to denounce this action, prevent those who do it, and report it to the authorities; to prevent it and to discipline the one who does it.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
