The second question of fatwa number ( 18447 )
Q 2: Is it permissible to eat the meat of the sacrificial animals that are slaughtered, where the walimah (wedding feast) is intended for a specific wali (close friend of Allah) such as 'Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani or others ; because these
feasts are very widespread among us, and we hope to know the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding them?
A 2 : The sacrificial animals that are slaughtered as an offering to the awliya (close friends of Allah) or to the jinn and Shayatins, or upon which a name other than Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is mentioned— it is not permissible to eat their meat; because of His saying, the Exalted:[Al-An'am 6:121] and His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Ma'idah 5:3] and slaughtering for other than Allah is major shirk (associating partners with Allah); such as slaughtering for Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir or al-Badawi or others. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
