Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18412 )
Q 1: We know that what they call (Nowruz), which they celebrate every year, is not permissible, and it is one of the festivals of the Zoroastrians. Question: Is it permissible to eat the foods served at it a few days later?
A 1: First: It is not permissible for a Muslim to establish any of the rituals of disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah), including religious occasions such as festivals and others. Second: It is not permissible to eat food prepared for polytheistic or innovative festivals; because doing so involves participation in and approval of what those people are upon, and it is obligatory for the Muslim to be cautious and take care of his religion. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
