Fatwa number ( 6946 )
Q: If a beast is slaughtered and a dead fetus is found inside it, is it eaten or not? And if it is eaten, is it slaughtered separately, or is the slaughter of its mother sufficient? And if it is eaten, what is your opinion regarding a beast that was struck on its belly and then slaughtered, and its fetus was found dead? Is it eaten or not?
A: If the beast is slaughtered and a living fetus is found in its belly that dies due to the slaughter of its mother, or if it comes out alive and is slaughtered, it is permissible to eat it. The basis for this is the hadith of Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said regarding the fetus: Narrated by Ahmad, al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah. And in another narration: Sunan Abi Dawud 2827Sahih (Al-Albani) Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud. By this, you know that if a beast is struck and has a fetus in its belly, if it dies because of the strike before the mother is slaughtered, it is not permissible to eat it; otherwise, it is permissible as mentioned above. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Its slaughter is the slaughter of its mother
ذكاته ذكاة أمهwe said: Messenger of Allah, we slaughter a she-camel, a cow and a sheep, and we find an embryo in its womb. Shall we throw it away or eat it? He replied: Eat it if you wish for the slaughter of its mother serves its slaughter.
قلنا: يا رسول الله: ننحر الناقة ونذبح البقرة والشاة في بطنها الجنين، أنلقيه أم نأكل؟ قال: كلوه إن شئتم، فإن ذكاته ذكاة أمه
