Hunting pigeons whose owner is unknown
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 9410 )
Q5: We have many pigeons in our house whose owner is unknown , and they are multiplying greatly, causing us dirt and annoyance. Is it permissible to hunt them and eat them, or to raise them in cages?
A5: You may protect your home from the entry of pigeons by driving them away and not preparing a place for them to stay, and not providing food for them to eat, and by doing so you will be safe from harm and dirt. As for hunting them or raising them to take possession of them, it is not permissible except with the permission of their owner. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
