Q: Regarding hunting in the month of Ramadan, Dhu al-Qa'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and the month of Muharram. Some people say that hunting land animals, such as birds
and rabbits, is forbidden. I have previously engaged in hunting in these four sacred months. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with the best reward.
A: There is no blame on you for hunting land animals in the months of Rajab, Dhu al-Qa'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and Muharram; for although they are among the sacred months, the prohibition of hunting land animals in them has been abrogated. As for the month of Ramadan, it is not among the sacred months. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
