Oath not to speak anything but the truth, then making a mistake

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The twelfth question from the fatwa number ( 20628 )
Q12: A person swore on the mushaf that he would not say anything but the truth, even if it were against himself if he made a mistake. One day he made a mistake, and the person in charge asked him by Allah what he had done, but he did not say what he had done; rather, he denied it and said something other than what actually happened?
A12: It is obligatory for this person to expiate his oath, because he violated what
he swore to adhere to. The expiation for the oath is: feeding ten poor people, giving each poor person one and a half kilograms of wheat, rice, dates, or the like of what the people of the country eat, or clothing ten poor people, or freeing a believing slave. If he is unable to do any of the three mentioned, he must fast three days as expiation for his breaking of his oath. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
