Wearing the clothing of the disbelievers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 2358 )
Q 33: Is it permissible to wear the clothing of the disbelievers , and is it permissible to carry the mushaf (the Qur'an) to their lands?
Vol. 3: First: It is not permissible for a Muslim to wear the clothing specific to the disbelievers, which serves as their emblem distinguishing them from others, for this constitutes imitating them in what is specific to them, and imitating them is not permissible; due to what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the prohibition of this. Second: A Muslim carrying the mushaf (the Qur'an) to the lands of the disbelievers is a matter in which the jurists have differed regarding its ruling. A group of them said it is permissible to carry it to their lands, while others said it is prohibited? Due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibition of traveling with it to their lands? For fear that they would desecrate it or distort it, or that they would mislead Muslims regarding it. Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both):
Yahya related to me from Malik from one of the Ansar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade defecating or urinating while facing the qibla.أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى أن يسافر بالقرآن إلى أرض العدو
Muwatta Malik 14:2
, and Muslim also narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to forbid traveling with the Qur’an to the land of the enemy, lest the enemy gets hold of it.أنه كان ينهى أن يسافر بالقرآن إلى أرض العدو مخافة أن يناله العدو
Sunan Ibn Majah 2880Sahih (Darussalam)
, and he also narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not take the Qur'an on a journey with you, for I am afraid lost it should fall into the hands of the enemy.لا تسافروا بالقرآن فإني لا آمن أن يناله العدو
Sahih Muslim 1869c
, and others said: It is permissible to carry it to their lands for the purpose of conveying the message, establishing the proof against them, and for preservation and understanding its rulings when necessary, if the Muslims have strength or authority, or something equivalent to them in the form of treaties and covenants, and the like of that which guarantees its preservation and allows for the possibility of benefiting from it in conveying, preserving, and studying. This is supported by what came at the end of the hadith prohibiting traveling with it to their lands in the form of the reason given. This latter view is the stronger position because the benefit is achieved while the harm that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) feared is absent. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
