The third question of the fatwa number ( 9540 )
Q3: I reside in the Kingdom for work, and I intend to perform the obligatory Hajj,
and my workplace has assigned me to work in the sacred sites this year. My work there does not prevent me from performing all the rituals, but I will not be able to wear the ihram clothes; because the nature of my work and its regulations require me to wear a specific sewn garment . What should I do? And will my Hajj be valid if I slaughter an expiation without wearing the ihram clothes throughout the days of Hajj?
A3: If the situation is as described, your Hajj is valid, and there is no sin on you for wearing clothes other than the ihram clothes; to remove hardship from yourself. However, an expiation is obligatory for this, which is feeding six poor people from the poor of the Haram, or slaughtering a sacrificial animal that is suitable as an 'Id sacrifice, and feeding the poor of Makkah or the rest of the Haram, and you must not eat from it, or fasting for three days. Whichever of these you do is sufficient for you. And you must do the same regarding the head covering, if you covered your head. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
