Paying a sum to facilitate exam matters

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14596 )
Q: I am a student at one of the educational stages, and the exam date is approaching, but I have not studied well. This stage is considered the pivotal stage in my life as a student, and there are approximately ten days left until the exam. Many lessons have piled up on me due to circumstances I went through, and naturally, those ten days are not enough to study what has happened to me. In those difficult circumstances, I heard from one of my friends that a person wants a sum of money from each student so that he will leave the exam committee with ease and simplicity for her, but only for those who pay; and whoever does not pay, he will make it difficult for her alone. I am confused and hesitant, and I am afraid that if I pay this sum, I will have disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. I am keen to avoid disobeying Allah, so I am confused and I want to know the ruling on this matter, and whether it falls under the category of bribery? Knowing that most of the girls will
pay that sum; because, as I said, it is a pivotal stage in education, and the future is determined after it. Finally, may Allah guide us and you to righteous deeds and sound opinion. Note: I ask you to provide me with a response quickly.

A: It is not permissible for you to pay a sum to facilitate exam matters, nor is it permissible for anyone else to do so; because the sum paid to the one who facilitates exam matters is a bribe. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who gives the bribe, the one who takes the bribe, and the one who mediates between them. In it is also deception. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
