The questioner : What is the ruling on one who denies the Mi'raj or interprets its meaning figuratively?
The Shaykh : We rule that if the truth has become clear to him and he knows the explicit texts from the Sunnah and the apparent meaning of the Noble Qur'an, then the one who denies the Mi'raj is a disbeliever, because he is lying to Allah and His Messenger. If he has doubts regarding this matter, then the doubts must be removed from him until the truth becomes clear to him. Then, if he persists after the doubts are removed, he is also ruled to be a disbeliever, because the Mi'raj is a confirmed truth to which Allah the Exalted referred in His saying:[An-Najm 53:1-8] until He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said: [An-Najm 53:18] As for the Isra, it is also confirmed by the text of the Qur'an in His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Isra 17:1] Many hadiths have converged on the story of the Mi'raj and that it is a confirmed truth. For this reason, many scholars included it in the books of creed and made it part of the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community. However, on this occasion, I would like to clarify that things have been included in the Mi'raj that are lies and fabrications attributed to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), such as the book attributed to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) in his narration. It is a book circulated among some people containing denounceable, fabricated matters that are not authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So a person should be cautious of it and stay away from it. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
