Exceeding traffic signals and other violations
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15752 )
Q: Is exceeding traffic signals and other violations, such as exceeding the speed limit inside or outside cities, and irregular parking, especially during prayer times, and obstructing others for a reason or without a reason, and other traffic violations, forbidden by the Shari'ah or disliked? Please issue a ruling, and may Allah reward you with good.
A: Traffic regulations were established for the public benefit of Muslims, and it is obligatory for all drivers to observe these regulations; because observing them brings benefit to people, while violating them leads to many accidents and harm to others, and results in other harms. As for parking near mosques for a limited time without bothering anyone, which is customary among people, we hope there is no blame in that, if Allah wills.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
