Fatwa number ( 14122 )
Q: Three women, full sisters, one of whom passed away, leaving behind a daughter who was one month old. She then bequeathed the child to the care of her sisters until she completed the period of breastfeeding. However, the child's father prevented the child's aunts from nursing her , and gave the child to another woman to nurse, refusing to let the aunts take the child. It is known that their sister had bequeathed that the aunts should nurse this child, and according to the bequest, they are entitled to do so from their sister, but the child's father did not agree to this and gave the child to another woman. Please inform us whether the aunts are sinful for not nursing her or not? May Allah reward you a thousand times for us.
A: There is no blame on the child's aunts for not nursing their sister's daughter, whom she bequeathed to them, as long as her father has prevented them from doing so.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
