Does a man observe a waiting period?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 4800 )
Q1: Does a man observe a waiting period like a woman, and what is his waiting period?
A1: A man does not observe a waiting period like a woman, but he is sometimes prevented from marrying another. This is the case if he is married to four wives and divorces one of them with a revocable divorce; he is not permitted to marry a fourth wife in her place until her waiting period expires. His waiting for that period is not called a waiting period for him; rather, it is a waiting period for her, during which she is considered his wife. For this reason, he is prevented from marrying until she is clearly separated from him by the expiration of her waiting period. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
