Are there specific supplications for relatives?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third and fourth questions of Fatwa No. ( 20834 )
Q 3: Are there specific supplications that parents make so that their children will be Muslims, and are there supplications they make so that their children will be intelligent in their studies? What are these supplications?
A 3: There are no specific supplications for parents to make so that their children will be Muslims or intelligent in their studies. Rather, they should supplicate for them for success and guidance, and the like of the prescribed supplications. They should seek the times when supplication is answered, persist in asking Allah for this, and strive to ensure that their earnings are lawful, feeding their children lawful food and clothing them with lawful things, so that Allah may answer their supplication. They should also be a good role model for their children so that they may follow their example. If they supplicate with words like the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
[Al-Ahqaf 46:15]
the verse, and His saying:
Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
[Al-Furqan 25:74]
the verse, then that is good and excellent.

Q 4: Are there supplications that a person makes for his sick relatives and friends so that their illness may be removed? What are these supplications?
Vol. 4: It is prescribed to perform ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) for the sick person with the lawful ruqyah, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted ruqyah as long as it does not involve shirk (associating partners with Allah). One may recite for the sick person Surat al-Ikhlas, the two Mu'awwidhat (chapters of protection), Surat al-Fatihah, and the Verse of the Throne, and the like, over the sick person. This is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through his action and his approval of his Companions doing so. Likewise, one may perform ruqyah for the sick person with the dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and the Prophetic supplications established from him (peace and blessings be upon him), such as:
“Remove the hardship and suffering. Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your healing; (grant) healing which does not leave any sickness behind.اللهم أذهب الباس، رب الناس، اشف أنت الشافي، لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك، شفاء لا يغادر سقمًا
Musnad Ahmad 565Sahih because of corroborating evidence; this is a Da'if (weak)
, which is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, and such as:
I seek refuge for both of you in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous thing and from the evil eye which influencesأعيذك بكلمات الله التامة، من كل شيطان وهامة، ومن كل عين لامة
Sunan Abi Dawud 4737Sahih (Al-Albani)
. And Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi narrated it with a sound chain from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Whoever visits a sick person whose time of death has not arrived and says to him seven times: "I ask Allah the Great, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to heal you," Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will cure him of that illness.من عاد مريضًا لم يحضر أجله فقال عنده سبع مرات: أسأل الله العظيم رب العرش العظيم أن يشفيك، إلا عافاه سبحانه وتعالى من ذلك المرض
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 14:16
and the like.
That which was transmitted from him (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
