What is called the Supplication of the Throne

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 21053 )
Q: The Supplication of the Throne has spread recently, and we are attaching a picture of it for you. What is the ruling on this supplication, acting upon it, and distributing it? Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you with good.
A: The supplication known as “The Supplication of the Throne and the Virtues of the Supplication of the Throne” is an innovated supplication. It has no basis and no evidence from the Book or the Sunnah, and it is not attributed to an approved reference. It is the invention of the one who composed it, and its composer is unknown. It contains fabricated phrases, such as: “I ask You by Your name written on the wing of Jibril, on Mika'il, on the forehead of Israfil, and on the palm of Azrael, by which You named Munkar and Nakir, and by the right of the secrets of Your servants upon You.” It also contains fabricated promises to entice people with this innovated supplication, such as: “Whoever supplicates with it once, Allah will gather him on the Day of Resurrection with his face shining... etc.” “And if he has sins more than the water of the seas and the drops of the rain... etc.” “And it will be written for him the reward of a thousand accepted Umrahs, and if he reads it
while afraid, Allah will make him safe; or if thirsty, Allah will quench his thirst; or if hungry, Allah will feed him... etc.” “And if one afflicted with a disability carries it, he will be cured; or if a wife, her husband will honor her, and he will be safe from jinn, humans, the rebellious, devils, pains, and diseases, and he will return to his family if he is absent...” to the end of its lies. This is a call to hanging amulets and talismans and relying on other than Allah. It is obligatory to prevent its distribution and spread, to destroy whatever is found of it, and to punish whoever promotes it among people; because it is a call to spreading religious innovations, superstitions, and hanging amulets and talismans. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
