The limit of a man's garment

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 4679 )
Q3: What are the limits regarding dragging the garment, and where is the lower limit of dragging the garment?
A3: Dragging the garment is forbidden for men, and one who drags his garment is subject to discretionary punishment if he does not desist from it. The garment of a believer should reach to the middle of his shins; what is between the shins and the ankles is permissible, and what is below the ankles is forbidden. The one who does this deserves punishment in the Hereafter and discretionary punishment in this world, based on what was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim : that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whatever of the Izar comes below the ankles is in the Fire.ما أسفل من الكعبين من الإزار فهو في النار
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5331Sahih (Darussalam)
And other authentic hadiths. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
