Q 5: Is it permissible for those who meet on the road or in any place to shake hands as mentioned in the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) in (Durat al-Nasihin)?
A 5: Al-Bukhari narrated in (Sahih al-Bukhari): "Narrated to us by 'Amr ibn 'Asim , who narrated to us by Hammad , from Qatadah , who said: I asked Anas , 'Did the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) shake hands?' He said: Yes." And Abu Dawud narrated in (Sunan Abu Dawud), as a mursal report, from al-Bara' ibn 'Azib , who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If two Muslims meet, shake hands, praise Allah, and ask Him for forgiveness, they will be forgiven.إذا التقى المسلمان فتصافحا وحمدا الله واستغفراه غفر لهما
