Q: What is the ruling of the noble Shari'ah regarding forging a school certificate ; and that is for the sake of seeking knowledge?
A: Forging is forbidden and is a major sin among the major sins, whether it is for the purpose of education or otherwise; due to the generality of the saying of the Exalted and Majestic:[Al-Hajj 22:30] the verse, and His saying: Sahih al-Bukhari 5976 agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الأَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُّورِ"Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" We said, "Yes, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)" He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one's parents." The Prophet (ﷺ) sat up after he had been reclining and added, "And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness
ألا أنبئكم بأكبر الكبائر؟ قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله، قال: الإشراك بالله، وعقوق الوالدين، وكان متكئا فجلس فقال: ألا وقول الزور، ألا وشهادة الزور
