Q1: Why did Islam forbid a brother and sister from sleeping together?
A1: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a brother and sister from sleeping in the same bed and under the same blanket, saying (peace and blessings be upon him): “Order your children to pray at seven, beat them for it at ten, and separate them in their sleeping places.” This is because at this age, the inclination of the male toward the female and the female toward the male begins, along with a deficiency in intellect, making it a means for Satan to lure them into what is not permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
