His son disappeared, and he searched for him but did not find him

Fatwa number ( 10629 )
Q: I have a son who has reached the age of maturity, and I married him off. After the marriage, he disappeared from me and my brothers. I have searched for him in every place in the Kingdom but have not found him. It has been two years, and I do not know whether he is alive or dead. He has cut off all contact with me during this entire period; he has not written to me nor asked about me. Is there any sin on me if I give up, or should I continue searching for him? Please inform me about this, may Allah reward you, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
A: There is no sin on you if you do not continue searching for him. As for the wife, she has the right to take her case to the court. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
