Living with his sister and her husband while he does not pray
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 6316 )
Q 2: A man’s sister’s brother lives with a man and his wife, and this
person has little religion, so he does not pray, may Allah protect us from that, and as for fasting, he fasts but without prayer, and as is known, the maintenance of the household is the husband’s obligation, so does he commit a sin by spending on such a person?
A 2: Abandoning prayer is disbelief, and therefore the fasting of one who abandons prayer is invalid. If your wife’s brother is as you described, then advise him, and seek help in advising and guiding him from among the people of good who have a connection with you. If he reforms, praise be to Allah, but if not, remove him from your house, do not associate with him, and do not honor him, for he is not worthy of honor. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
