Stuffing animal skin and completing its form
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18621 )
Q1: We know that Islam forbids statues and three-dimensional images of animals and humans that cast a shadow; for a profound wisdom in not imitating the creation of Allah, and to cut off the path to the worship of idols and animals. This applies to what is carved from stone or wood, or made from molds prepared for that purpose. But if a person has a tiger skin, or a donkey skin, or a ram skin, (and it is stuffed) with straw or cotton, and a head and limbs are made for it in the color of its skin , and it is placed at the entrances of the house or in the sitting rooms for decoration only. Does the prohibition apply to it, or is it permissible as long as it was not carved or cast in a mold, or not made for veneration?
A1: It is forbidden to make what was mentioned; because it resembles a statue, and because it is a frivolous act with no benefit. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
