Superstition regarding a man entering a woman's home carrying meat or having a shaved chin

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 21898 )
Q1: I am worried about my mother, and some women hold certain false beliefs. For example, they believe that a nursing woman’s milk will stop if a man enters her home carrying meat or with a shaved chin, especially during the first week after childbirth. My mother also believes that if a menstruating woman enters her home, the nursing woman will not conceive thereafter. This applies to a newly married woman as well; if a menstruating woman enters her home, she will not conceive. According to these beliefs, she suffers from what is called "al-kabsah," and then they perform rituals involving things called "al-kabasat." They claim that if this woman performs ghusl three times at the time of Friday prayer, she will conceive afterward. I swear by Allah that I and my husband have tried very hard with her, and all her argument is that my relatives share the same
beliefs, and my husband has tried very hard with his mother as well. For the record, my mother prays and attends gatherings of knowledge, but we have failed to remove this belief from her, and we do not know what to do with them.

A1: These are false beliefs from which repentance is obligatory, and one must rely upon Allah alone. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And if they were to gather to do something to harm you- you would never be harmed except that Allah had written for you.واعلم أن الخلق لو اجتمعوا على أن يضروك بشيء لم يضروك إلا بشيء قد كتبه الله عليك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2516Hasan (Darussalam)
, and Allah the Exalted said:
That is only Satan who frightens [you] of his supporters. So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are [indeed] believers.
[Ali 'Imran 3:175]
. These mentioned beliefs are considered among the superstitions (tatayyur) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) counted as shirk (associating partners with Allah). Therefore, repentance from this is obligatory, and Muslims must be warned against these beliefs and similar matters of shirk. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
