The sworn oath when its owner breaks it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 19667 )
Q 3: I swear a lot of oaths, some of which I intend to be binding, and some are just idle talk from my tongue. Do I owe an expiation , O honorable Shaykh? Also, my brother and I had a discussion, and I swore that I would die before entering your house
if any of my relatives were to die in it, and I intended not to enter his house. I was forced to enter his house based on my mother’s wish, and my mother says: If you do not visit your brother while I am alive, I will be angry with you. My brother came to me and apologized to me. The question, O honorable Shaykh: Do I owe an expiation for the oath I swore? Knowing that I swore and did not sit [in his house] except for a month, and I was forced to enter my brother’s house based on my mother’s wish. Rule for me, O honorable Shaykh, may Allah reward you with the best reward.

A 3: If a person breaks a sworn oath, an expiation is obligatory for it, whereas what is idle talk is excused; for Allah the Exalted said:
Allah does not impose blame upon you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He imposes blame upon you for what your hearts have earnedلاَ يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يُؤَاخِذُكُمْ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ
[Al-Baqarah 2:225]
and He the Glorious and Exalted said:
Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is meaningless in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for [breaking] what you intended of oathsلاَ يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يُؤَاخِذُكُمْ بِمَا عَقَّدْتُمُ الأَيْمَانَ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:89]
. Your oath not to enter your brother’s house does not make it forbidden for you to enter it or to maintain ties with him, but you must pay an expiation for the oath, which is feeding ten poor people, each poor person receiving approximately one and a half kilograms of the local staple food, such as rice
and the like, or clothing them, giving each one what suffices him for his prayer, or freeing a believing slave. If you are unable to do any of the above, fast for three days, and the safest course is that they be consecutive, along with repentance to Allah for that; because it is not permissible for a Muslim to forbid what Allah has made lawful. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
