Is it permissible to force his mother to travel with him because she is unable to care for herself?

Fatwa number ( 1237 )
Q: He has a mother who is advanced in age, and nearly blind, and she lives in a town in (...). He tried to take her with him to the area where he resides, but she refused; she does not want to ride in a car or an airplane, and there is no one there to look after her. What should he do with her? Should he force her
to go?
A: If the matter is as the questioner described, that his mother is advanced in age and nearly blind, and if there is no one there to look after her voluntarily, and the questioner does not have the ability to stay with her, nor the means to hire someone to take care of her, and he has a wife who is compassionate toward her and can serve her without harming her, then her interest requires forcing her to go with him to where he and his wife reside, so that he can serve her and supervise her comfort for the rest of her life. He should perhaps use some ruses with her to encourage her to ride in the car, such as telling her that they wish to go on a trip to the desert or something similar, and then travel with her to his place of residence. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
