Q 2: I have an elderly mother who prays but does not know how to pray properly, and she says some things that amount to associating partners with Allah, but she does not rely on anything other than Allah, and even
some of these things she only says when the women talk to her, and when I advise her she does not reject the advice, and she has left off making vows to other than Allah. As for the prayer, she refuses to learn it properly, and she does not know how to recite the Qur'an, the tashahhud, or the tasbih. If she dies in this state, what will be her condition? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A 2: Continue in your advice to your mother, and in teaching her the matters of the oneness of Allah and the rulings of the prayer; such as recitation, tasbih, tashahhud, and so on. Whatever she is unable to do is excused from her. Be good to her, and Allah will be good to you. And whatever she is unable to do, its outcome is left to Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
