He said to his wife, “May Allah compensate you with someone more pious than me”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 2406 )
Q: A disagreement occurred between me and my wife (E.S.M), so I said to her:
(May Allah compensate you with someone more pious than me)
out of anger, and I took her back while she was pregnant. After a period, she changed her mind and obtained a fatwa, attached to this request, from the judge, Shaykh: Salih ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Farraj , but my wife’s father did not accept it. This was the first and last time I ever said such a word, so I hope you will issue a ruling to reassure her father.

A: If the situation is as you described, namely that you divorced your wife while she was pregnant and you took her back before she gave birth, then what occurred from you is considered one divorce, and your taking her back is valid, and she remains your wife, as stated in the fatwa you submitted with your inquiry. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
