The husband died while angry with his wife

Fatwa number ( 16697 )
Q: I am an elderly woman now, and previously my husband and I were on the best of terms, in terms of marital relations and the other matters existing between us and our children. However, in recent years, the opposite of what we had before has occurred. I have come to dislike him, and I cannot stand his speech, his company, or any of his behavior. This is not due to stubbornness or defiance on my part, but rather the result of illnesses I have suffered, including what is called in colloquial speech "nafs" or being struck by the evil eye of a person in the past, which affected the good treatment between me and my husband, as well as diabetes, high blood pressure, and others. Since I am affected by anything that happens from him, even if that thing is for my benefit, in the end, a verbal altercation occurs that leads to resentment and anger between us. He passed away -may Allah have mercy on him and keep you safe- on the date 25/2/1414 AH, and he was in a state of resentment toward me. I am affected by this, as he is my husband and has rights over me. Therefore, I ask about this in terms of expiation. Do I have
an expiation for what occurred from me toward my husband since he passed away while we were in the state I mentioned above? Please advise me on this so that I may expiate what occurred from me toward my husband. May Allah reward you with good.
A: The right of each spouse over the other is great, and it is obligatory for each of them to fulfill it according to the Shari'ah. If what happened from you was without your will, we hope that there is no sin in it. If it was with your will, you are sinful, and you must repent, seek forgiveness from Allah the Exalted, and increase in supplication for your husband. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
