Fatwa number ( 8226 )
Q: By my own will and choice, I divorced my wife, referred to as (H.S.K.D), with a divorce in accordance with the Prophetic Sunnah. I wish her success, and may Allah grant success. I inform you that I took her back with the testimony of (S.S) and the other witness (A.A.A) on 5/2/1405 AH. I am (N.A.M). By my own will and choice, I divorced by saying: "The referred-to (A.A.H) is divorced with a divorce in accordance with the Sunnah." I wish her success, and may Allah grant success. I took her back with the testimony of her brother (A.A.H) on 29/1/1405 AH, and (S.S) also testified to what is therein, including the husband. I inform you that a divorce occurred from me regarding my two wives with a single pronouncement, as per the attached documents, and I took them back and provided testimony to that effect. I hope for a fatwa to convince their families of this. I hope from Allah, then from you, for an official fatwa. May Allah reward you with good.
A: If the situation is as you described, that you divorced your two wives (H.S)
and (A.A.H) with a single pronouncement, and that this was not the third of three pronouncements, and then you took back each of them during the waiting period, then the taking back of each of them by you is valid. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
