Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa number ( 17332 )
Q6: If your mother says to you: "Divorce your wife," is it permissible to divorce her for the sake of her saying so?
A6: If the wife whom your mother ordered you to divorce is upright in her religion and not harmful to your mother, then you are not obligated to divorce her. However, if she is not upright in her religion, or if she is harmful to your mother, it is obligatory for you to counsel her. If she does not comply, it is obligatory for you to divorce her.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
