Combining a Woman and Her Grandfather’s Divorced Wife

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 16304 )
Q: A man proposed to a girl while he was married to her grandfather’s divorced wife (her mother’s father). Is it permissible for him to combine this girl and her grandmother in his marriage?
A: It is permissible for a man to combine a woman and her grandfather’s divorced wife in his marriage; because there is no legal impediment to that in the Shari'ah; because she is not her grandmother as he imagined, but rather she is her grandfather’s wife. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
