The daughters of one's maternal aunt are not mahram
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 5155 )
Q4: My maternal aunt's daughters do not cover their faces in front of me, and we are all adults, but their father is content with it and says: As long as the intention is pure, there is no harm. They cover their heads with a handkerchief. What is the ruling in this matter?
A4: The basic ruling regarding your maternal aunt's daughters is that they are not mahram to you, so it is not permissible for them to uncover their hair, faces, necks, legs, or any other parts of their 'awrah in front of you, even if their father is content with them uncovering these parts. Covering the head with a handkerchief that reveals some of the hair and does not cover the face is not sufficient. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
