The fifth question of the fatwa number ( 9507 )
Q5: What are the limits of the relationship between a wife and her maternal uncle and paternal uncle? Is it permissible for her to shake their hands, be in seclusion with them, and travel with them, and to appear before them with her hair and legs exposed, as well as before her brother?
A5: A woman’s maternal uncle, paternal uncle, and brothers are among her mahram (relatives one may not marry). It is permissible for her to shake their hands, be in seclusion with them, and travel with them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
