The sons of uncles and maternal uncles are not among the mahram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 5238 )
Q: I inform your eminence that I have married the daughter of one of the group, and since she has uncles' sons and maternal aunts' sons who greet her, I have prevented them from greeting her, but I told them to ask her; because it is forbidden, and some of them were upset by my words, until some of my relatives and family say: It is not permissible for me to prevent them, and I said to them: This is forbidden; because they are not her brothers from the same mother and father, but rather her uncles' sons and maternal aunts' sons. Please inform me, may Allah reward you with good.
A: It is not permissible for a woman to display her adornment, nor to uncover her face, nor to shake hands with foreign men, Allah the Exalted said:
And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
[An-Nur 24:31]
.
So whoever Allah the Exalted mentioned among the awliya (close friends of Allah) of the woman, such as the husband, the father, the husband's father, the brother, the brother's son, the sister's son, and others whom Allah mentioned - these are her mahram (relatives one may not marry) for whom it is permissible for her to shake hands. As for the husband's brother, his uncle, the woman's uncle's son, her aunt's son, her maternal uncle's son, her maternal aunt's son, and the like - it is not permissible for her to uncover herself to them, nor to shake hands with them. They greet her in the presence of her mahram without shaking hands, with hijab (the covering prescribed for women), caution, and modesty. Likewise, seclusion with them is forbidden. It is established that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited entering upon women, saying:
Avoid going in where women are.” A man said, “Messenger of God, tell me about the relatives of a woman’s husband,” to which he replied, “The relatives of a woman’s husband are death.”
Mishkat al-Masabih 3102
The "hamu" (in-laws) is: the husband's relative; such as his brother, his uncle, his maternal uncle, and the like. As for the upset of your relatives, do not pay attention to it, and it is upon you to call them to the truth and clarify it to them with evidence, perhaps Allah will guide them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
