Q: Is it permissible for a man, during intercourse with his wife, to remove his clothes and her clothes and look at each other, and what is the meaning of the noble verse:[Al-Baqarah 2:187] along with an explanation of how to perform the full ritual bath from major ritual impurity if it is during prayer time or not during prayer time.
A: It is permissible for a man to see his wife naked, and it is permissible for a woman to see her husband likewise. As for the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:187], Ibn Abbas , Mujahid , Sa'id ibn Jubayr , al-Hasan , Qatadah , al-Suddi , and Muqatil ibn Hayyan said: It means: They are a dwelling for you, and you are a dwelling for them. And al-Rabi' ibn Anas said: They are a covering for you, and you are a covering for them. Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The essence of this is that the man and the woman, each of them mixes with the other, touches him, and lies with him, so it was appropriate to grant them a dispensation for intercourse during the nights of Ramadan so that it would not be difficult for them and they would not be put in a difficult position. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
