Preventing my wife from traveling with me by her family: Is there a sin on me for leaving her during my trip?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6067 )
Q1: I work in the military sector in the area of Dammam, and all of my wife's family live in the area of al-Qunfudhah. I have been married for four years, and I have a daughter from my wife. I want to live with my wife and daughter at my place of work, but I face opposition from my wife's family. Since I cannot go to my own family without their consent, is there a sin from Allah on me, or is the sin on her family? I am ready to fulfill all obligations, and I want her to live with me at my place of work. I ask Allah, then you, for a quick response. May you remain safe.
A1: If the situation is as you described, that the one preventing her from coming to you is not you, and that you make every effort to travel to her location whenever it is feasible for you, then there is no sin on you. We ask Allah for success and ease for you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
