Q2: When a man’s wife dies and he wants to marry her sister, does he have to observe the waiting period of the woman? I ask you to issue a ruling on these matters; does the man have to observe the waiting period in these cases, or what?
A2: It is not obligatory for a man whose wife has died and who wants to marry her sister to wait for the duration of her waiting period, as there is no need for that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
