Q: If a woman's husband dies and her father-in-law is alive, does she greet him or not?
A: The husband's father is among the woman's permanent mahrams; because she is the wife of his son who is of his lineage, it is permissible for her to greet him, shake his hand, and show him what she shows her mahrams by blood relation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
